Edge detection puzzles are a brilliant way to introduce students at a range of levels to the idea of Intractable problems. Actually getting one’s hands on said puzzles (for free) is not easy. Making a puzzle is thus a great option and it has the added benefit of allowing students to build some important design / graphics editing skills.
