I was invited to attend this workshop by Auckland University.
It involved looking at two more of the new level 1 standards and providing input for a proposed resource that the University have been contracted to produce.
This was a valuable opportunity to discuss the new standards with colleagues and think about how the content could be presented to students in a memorable and engaging way. The standards involved were:
91880 (Digital Media – Web Design Context)
91885 (Demonstrate understanding of searching and sorting algorithms)
By the end of the workshop we all had a clear idea on the content that could be assessed and a plan was in place to develop the resource. The team at Auckland University were grateful for teacher input and this workshop helped me to gain a deeper understanding of what is required by the new sorting / searching standard. It also gave some great ideas on both what to teach and how this might be taught.
